8 Years Aged "Menghai Grade 3" Ripe Loose Leaf Pu-erh Tea

This is from a small Menghai area tea factory where tea from all over Menghai county in Xishuangbanna (Bu Lang, Ba Da, Nan Nuo and other areas) underwent 46 days of wet piling (wo dui) to transform it in to a lovely ripe pu-erh.

Tea was aged in Menghai (until 2016) and then Kunming (until now).  With it's current age the "wo dui" taste (freshly wet piled aka composted) is completely gone and the tea brews up a clear burgundy red.  The taste is that of dried fruit, chocolate bitter, and wood, with a sweetness in the after-taste.

Tea is Grade 3 size tea leaves (neither big nor small).  An enjoyable and accessible ripe pu-erh tea that's great to drink now, but will continue to improve with further storage.
